From time to time you see stories of text books that are not suitable for children; they are not even suitable for every one of us because, they are introducing children to gay and other unacceptable ways of life as norm that are totally against our culture and religion.
In this world of ‘human rights’ where a human being supposedly has a right to do whatever he likes, parents should monitor their children before they are indoctrinated into believing that homosexuality, lesbianism and transgender are normal and should not be discriminated against.
As for Muslims, how are they going to keep on being Muslims if they believe these things that are not acceptable in Islam and are condemned and damned as sins among those of the highest order?
In any event, a story from the United Kingdom makes me to focus on the books where such deviant acts are being introduced through the backdoor to our children, even by some international agencies.
A woman has sued a school in the UK for making her four-year-old son to participate in LGBT pride parade. (LGBT is an initials that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender.)
According to the story by Mail Online on Wednesday, Izzy Montagu, 38, who is a devout a devout born-again Christian has asked the school to excuse her son from the parade.
Montagu said she was told by the head teacher of Heavers Farm Primary School in South Norwood, southeast London, United Kingdom that her son could not opt out of the event in June 2018.
The school sent a letter to parents on 19 June inviting them to partake in a Pride march and ‘celebrate the differences that make them and their family special.’
A week later Montague contacted the school ‘and asked for her son to be excused attendance on 29 June as they were concerned of him being involved of a public display of adherence to views which she did not accept.’
Montague’s request was refused by the head teacher Susan Papas so the parent replied with a lengthy email on 13 July, Central London County Court heard.
At the start of the eight-day case Judge Christopher Lethem described Montague and her husband as “devout born-again Christians, and they bear a belief that sexual relations should be abstained from or take place within a life-long marriage between a man and a woman and any activity outside those confines is sinful.
“They also say pride is considered to be the most serious of the deadly sins.”
Montague also told the court that she had expressed concerns to her son’s teacher about the types of books they were reading in class.
Montague said: ‘There was one reference to a same-sex family book.’
Representative of the school Ian Clarke said the book is called the Family Book.
It may not be in Nigeria but by being tolerant about not raising our voices about these books and the agencies’ agenda, we may wake up in the nearest future to be confronted with these when they might have taken a firm root difficult to uproot.
Some believe that it is matter of time before the LGBT is forced on us, but I hope the people both Muslims and Christians that adhere to the tenets of their religions could fight that.
Apparently that was why in 2011 the Senate passed a bill that strictly prohibits same-sex romantic liaisons. The consequences are dire and well stated: Erring individuals stand to bag a jail sentence of 10 to 14 years.
The then US President Barack Obama threatened to cut off foreign aid to Nigeria if it passed the anti-gay bill.
The Prime Minister of UK at that time David Cameron had also threatened to withhold aid from countries that violate gay rights as well.
But our legislators were unwavering in their support of the bill and told them to keep their aid.
Even the then minister for information, Labaran Maku, said that Nigerians had the right to make their own laws without apologies to other countries.
In spite all that effort it seems those intent on eroding our religious and cultural beliefs are not relenting, they are targeting our young ones to brainwash them even without the influence of the social media.
In this regard parent should not just accept anything as so-called learning, they should also check on school drama, quiz and debate to find out the subject matter. You cannot be too careful.
