A cult clash has claimed the lives of two Lagosians – a security guard in Aiyetoro in the Ijanikin area of Lagos State and an unidentified resident.
The latest killings arose as a result of clashes between the Aiye and Eiye cults. involved a security attached to one of the streets in Aiyetoro.
The cultists shredded the body of the guard whom they lured out from his house to where he was killed., adding that a resident had allegedly reported to the victim how his phone was forcefully collected from him by a member of the Aiye.
“The victim brokered peace between the owner of the phone and the cult gang members. After the peace meeting, the gang members promised to return the phone.
“Two days later, the cultists called the security man to come and collect the phone. He went and collected the phone and handed it over to its owner.
“However, the gang members fired a shot at the victim as he was leaving the area. Other members of the gang started matcheting him until they reduced his body to a hip of meat.”
Witnesses of the killing could not intervene as the killer cultists left on two motorcycles untouched.
The second killing of a 28-year-old victim at a roadside was at the Iyana-Era area of Ijanikin. Why he was killed could not be ascertained as at press time.
Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, said he was not aware of the killings.
