The Defence Headquarters says troops fighting criminals in the North West have killed 35 bandits and arrested two others in Zamfara and Katsina states in the past one week.
It also says troops fighting insurgency in the North East killed several Boko haram/ISWAP fighters and destroyed 13 of the insurgents’ gun trucks operations.
Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche disclosed this during a weekly media update on military operations across the country.
Enenche said troops on operations against economic saboteurs in the South South, seized a total of 204,856.1 barrels of stolen crude oil, 1,423,000 litres of illegally refined AGO and 500,000 litres of DPK in the past one week.
He also said the troops arrested 24 suspects and destroyed six illegal refining sites, 11 wooden boats, 52 Gee Pee tanks, 102 metal tanks, 17 dugout pits, 16 metal storage and 52 ovens; and seized 14 pumping machines, 2 speed boats and 13 outboard engines during the operations
