Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) Kayode Fayemi says collective effort is required to end terrorsim which is fast spreading across the country.
“What we are witnessing is terrorism, there is no other name for it. We may call it banditry, kidnaping, these are the remnants of the actors in the North-East that have found themselves in other parts of the country. Whether they are known as ISWAP, Shekau faction, they are remnants of what we are still dealing with in that part of Nigeria.
“That is why we must not treat the North-East in isolation of this problem. We are all victims as long as any section of our country is ravaged by this problem,” he said.
Fayemi said this at the Government House Minna when he led the forum’s delegation to pay a solidarity visit to their colleague and people of Niger State over the recent kidnappings in the state.
He said as governors it is not time to lament as it is their responsibility to ensure the security and welfare of the people, pointing out that there is the need to come together to proffer both short and long term solutions to end the menace.
