According to Engineer Sule, it’s important that the peace currently being enjoyed in the state, be sustained and consistent, which could only be achieved if the officials carry out the work they were elected to do.

A statement by Ali Abare, the Special Assistant Media said governor expressed satisfaction that Nasarawa State was able to successfully conclude all the congresses, as well as the local government election.

While expressing gratitude to the members of the national state congress committee for achieving these feats, he equally used the opportunity to appreciate his predecessors, the party and all those that worked hard to ensure the success of the exercise.

He reiterated the determination of his administration to compensate all those who lost out during the congresses and who worked hard for the success of the party.

Earlier, in his opening address, Chairman of the State Congress Committee, Abdullahi Garba Abbas, said they were in Nasarawa State to conduct the state congress for the APC and to affirm, confirm the leadership of the party across the 13 local government councils.

Abbas said they were in the state for the third time, having previously conducted the ward and LG congresses.

He commended the peaceful nature of all the exercises, stressing that all the congresses were free, fair and a collective decision of the people.

The committee appreciated Governor Sule, the state government, as well as all critical stakeholders, for providing members of the committee a conducive, peaceful atmosphere to carry out their responsibilities.

The chairman of the committee thereafter, affirmed and inaugurated the party officials at the local government level and the state executive committee, where Dr. John Mamman and Hon Aliyu Bello, retained their positions as state chairman and secretary of the APC respectively.
