Troops fighting insurgency in North East Nigeria have killed over 30 Boko Haram fighters during a raid on the terrorists’ enclaves in Borno State.
The raid was conducted on Saturday, according to army spokesperson, Brig.- General Onyema Nwachukwu, in a statement.
He said the ongoing onslaught against the insurgents was part of intensified operations by the military in the region.
Nwachukwu said troops launched the attacks when they observed the convergence of over 50 Boko Haram fighters with six gun trucks within Sambisa Forest area.
He said the Nigerian Air Force fighter jets struck the terrorists’ hideout and eliminated more than 30 of them.
He said troops have remained resolute and “unshaken in their effort to bring the insurgents to their knees.”
