Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on TelegramShare on WhatsApp

Until it is too late, the lives of celebrities is a total glitz, the dazzle can blind the eyes and make the lives of ordinary people look too mundane. By the time we hear of their challenges, it is usually too late and we are reminded that they are only humans too. The gaudy lifestyle often disguises their anguish and challenges.

We bring you some epic celebrity scandals that have rocked the world of Nigerian celebrities, recently.

Innocent and Annie Idibia

Annie and 2face Idibia

Innocent “Tubaba” and Annie Idibia’s love story wasn’t a straight one. It was dotted with baby mamas and the drama they come with. But as the saying goes, love conquers all. The pair got married on March 23, 2013, after dating on and off for about 20 years. Since they tied the knot in Dubai in a fairytale wedding, it’s been seemingly paradise until last week, when the trouble that had apparently been brewing in paradise spilled over to social media. Annie took to Instagram to express her dissatisfaction on a number of issues, including how the family of her husband treats her and his “close” relationship with Pero Adeniyi, who has three children by the popular singer. Tuface’s brother, Charles, took on the role of the defender of the Idibia’s and spared no one, including Annie’s mother. Fans were quick to react, many of them berating Annie for brnging her family issues to the public space and removing her husband’s name from her name. Calm seemed to have returned as Mrs. Idibia later reverted to Annie Macaulay Idibia. A few days later, a voice recording of a wailing and distraught Annie surfaced on the internet, wherein she accused her husband of absconding to the USA to be with Pero, under the guise of going for a shoot.

Tubaba has since responded, asking the public to let them handle their issues privately, even though they were wrong to have brought it to the public in the first place.

Malam Musa don see for this life

While the Idibia family brouhaha was still being discussed, another celebrity couple drama unfolded online. Wetin Mallam Musa no go see for gate? Is a popular saying by comedian, Mr. Ani Chinedu Emmanuel alias Nedu. And Musa has indeed seen it all at the gate, as it would seem. Mallam Musa’s estranged wife, Uzoamaka Ohiri, took to Instagram to reveal the ordeal she endured living with Mallam Musa. Her allegations ranged from physical abuse to neglect but the drama took a different turn when Mallam Musa shared his side of the story. He didn’t just shake the proverbial table, he broke it.

The accused posted a DNA test on Instagram that revealed that Mallam Musa did not father the first child the couple had together. And what was Ohiri’s response? “I simply told him I was pregnant, I did not tell him he was responsible,” she said, and queried why he had refused to be financially responsible for the two children he sired. 21 CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that Mallam Musa has really seen things at the gate of life with Uzoamaka, as their supposed first child was allegedly sired by the husband of his ex-wife’s elder sister.

Alex and Fancy’s botched fairytale wedding

On May 3, 2021, the internet went agog following the proposal of Alex Ekubo a Nollywood actor to Fancy Acholonu an American-based teacher/model. It was Hollywood style; on one knee, Alex surprised Nancy with a ring and the question, after their 5-year-old relationship.

They announced that the wedding will come up in November this year and thousands of well-wishers took to their social media pages to wish them good fortunes. Much to the surprise of their followers, late August, Fancy deleted all traces of Alexx Ekubo from her social media accounts and announced that the wedding had been called off. There have been all kinds of rumours about the reasons for this sudden turn of events. Even though 21st CENTRY CHRONICLE gathered that infidelity may be at the root of the couple’s breakup, nothing has been confirmed as Fancy pleaded to be left alone and Alexx has maintained silence on the matter.

Paul got squared by Anita

Paul Okoye and Anita Isama Okoye

All seemed well with Paul Okoye and his wife Anita Isama Okoye until August 20, when copies of divorce proceedings initiated by Anita surfaced online. The first sign of trouble was the sudden relocation of Anita with the couple’s three children (Nathan, Andrea and Nadia) from their 7-year-old union to the United States of America in May. It didn’t seem like a sign of trouble then, as many Nigerian families have homes abroad. Findings by 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE indicated that Anita filed for divorce on the grounds of lack of communication and fulfilment of connubial rights, which led to irreconcilable differences.

Chioma now unassured

Davido and Chioma

Chioma was Davido’s assurance on the slippery road of stardom and fame. From 2017 when their relationship became public knowledge, they held on to each other through baby mama dramas, failed promises of marriage, an official proposal in September 2019, and a son in October 2019. The couple finally announced that they would tie the knot in 2020, fans worries were quelled by the couple who assured that the Corona pandemic was what delayed their plan, which was still on course. The day was never to come as pictures of Davido and Mya Yafai, an Instagram sensation, surfaced on the internet while both were on vacation. The rumor that all was not well with their relationship was thus confirmed.

Tonto Dikeh’s wrecked love nest

Relationship commotion is never far from 35-year-old Nollywood star, Tonto Dikeh. Her divorce from ex-husband, Churchill Olakunle, was messy, social media was their venting ground and they both used it to full effect, each to tell their own side of the story. They both dragged each other on several platforms and their son was sometimes in the middle of the saga.

Three months ago, Tonto made it public that she had found love again, this time in the arms of Prince Kpokpogri, alias Prince of Niger Delta, a philanthropist and anti-corruption advocate. Tonto’s fans were thrilled for her and rushed to coo around the love birds. They seemed like a happy family, even attending her son, Andre’s birthday party together. However, just when everyone was about to heave a sigh that Tonto had finally found the love of her life, news of their breakup jolted her followers. 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that it bothers on infidelity. Kpokpogri accused Tonto of cheating on him and has praised her ex-husband for what he must have endured while their marriage lasted.
