Real Madrid clinched all three points with 3-1 win over Celta Vigo, after a brace from Benzema and a late stoppage time header from Asensio.
Mina scored to give Celta hope just before the break, but they were unable to find the equaliser in the second period despite Aspas hitting the post from a good free-kick.
Real Madrid then caught them out on the counter late on and Asensio made sure of the victory.
This win moves Real Madrid up to second in the table in front of Barcelona before the game, and Madrid face Eibar in their next match.
Meanwhile Celta Vigo drop down to 11th and they play Alaves after the international break.
