Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has submitted four bills to the Katsina State House of Assembly.
The governor’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Kaulah Mohammed, in a statement on Friday, said the bills include one that seeks to establish the Katsina Community Watch Corps.
He said this bill seeks to improve the security and safety of communities across in the state by establishing a vigilant and community-oriented watch corps.
“The proposed corps will collaborate with existing security agencies to bolster efforts in combating crime and ensuring peace and stability in the state,” Mohammed said.
The second bill is for establishment of the Katsina Development Management Board, which objectives are meant to focus on promoting efficient development planning and implementation.
He said when operational, the board will play a critical role in coordinating developmental projects and initiatives, fostering collaboration between various stakeholders, and ensuring optimal resource allocation for sustainable growth.
The third bill is for the establishment of the Katsina State Geographic Information System (KATGIS). Mohammed explained that bill seeks to modernize land administration and facilitate investment in real estate, the Katsina State Geographic Information System (KATGIS) will be established.
The forth bill is for the amendment of the Katsina State Revenue Administration (Codification and Consolidation 2021) that aims to strengthen the financial framework of Katsina State and ensure transparent and effective revenue administration.
