Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has appealed to the Federal Government to deploy more security forces to tackle insecurity in his state.
He made the appeal when he visited Wurma village of Kurfi Local Government Area, according to a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Dr Bala Salisu Zango.
The commissioner said Radda could not hold back his tears when he sympathized and condoled with residents over recent bandits’ attack that led to the death of many people as well as the injured.
“Governor Radda condemned the attack which he described as barbaric, adding that it was pathetic to see how people deserted the village as a result of senseless killings by armed bandits.
“The governor reiterated the commitment of his administration to restore peace and security in the state, maintaining that his government would spend the last kobo in its treasury to safeguard the lives and properties of people in the state,” the statement read in part.
