The Presidency says there was nothing extraordinary about the pigeons that refused to fly during the Armed Force Remembrance Day in Abuja last week.
Presidential spokesperson Femi Adesina said in an article on his Facebook wall that although releasing pigeons during the day symbolises peace in the land, emblems of national harmony, but their refusal to fly might be due to being held in captivity for too long.
“Therefore, when you offer them freedom, they first baulk, thinking it’s too good to be true. It’s a natural phenomenon… Nothing extraordinary in the development, you would think,” he said.
