The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) has deleted from its website a template announcing the new petrol price of N212.6 per litre.
The agency had published the template on its website, http://pppra.gov.ng/pms-guiding-price-for-march-2021/.
The publication has sparked panic buying, as long queues resurfaced at fuel stations in Abuja and other major cities across the country.
The template released at midnight indicated petrol is to sell at a lower retail price of N209.61 and at an upper retail price of N212.61.
However, The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has insisted on its twitter page on Friday that petrol depot prices will remain unchanged in March.
