The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Plateau State University chapter, has embarked on an indefinite strike over what it described as the nonchalant attitude of the state government to address some problems confronting the Institution.
The Chairman of ASUU in the institution, Dr. Bentse Pamson, disclosed this on Saturday in Jos addressing journalists after an emergency meeting.
The ASUU chairman said some of the reasons for their action include inadequate infrastructure, refusal of the state government to constitute new governing council, unpaid earned academic allowances up to eight academic sessions totaling N215 million, underfunding of the institution, among others.
