The appointment of Amaju Pinnick into the FIFA executive council will increase the influx of financial resources, sponsorships and proper allocation of funds for the Nigerian premier leagues and Nigerian home base players, a football analyst, Olujimi Fairley, has said.
Fairley, a former coach of the Nigeria Security and Minting Company (NSPMC) football club Abuja, said this in an interview with 21st Century Chronicle on Thursday.
Super Eagles’ coach Gernot Rohr had said Nigeria cannot win the world cup with the kind of players it has at its disposal; and there was the need to persuade Nigerian players abroad to play for their country.
Fairley said Pinnick’s appointment will also influence highly talented Nigerian football players who have more than one nationality to play for Nigeria instead of other countries, football, hence giving the required human resources it needed to win the world cup.
“With Pinnick’s appointment, he can help Nigerian football leagues improve drastically by introducing new innovations and ideas. Like may be the introduction of VAR and the introduction of life broadcasting of Nigerian matches worldwide,” he said.
