The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has resolved to entrench peace through all the organs of the party to permit the development and implementation of well-structured plans.
The party took the decision at an emergency meeting of its BoT held in Abuja Thursday, adding that it will work with renewed vigour to oust the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next general elections.
The PDP, after 16 years in power, was defeated by the APC’s President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 when Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was president. The PDP tried to return to power in 2019, but failed as the APC again defeated it.
A communique signed by the BoT Secretary Senator Adolphus Wabara, said the party ill strategise and consult with its governors on measures to be taken towards solidifying the party.
The BoT reviewed the progress the party made so far in reconciling various aggrieved members, saying it will be committed to prevent “any mischievous trends or strains to clog the working relationship between all members, particularly at the top management level of the party.”
