A nutritionist has been arrested for admitting and treating patients in a private health facility in Gaya local government area of Kano State.
21ST CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that the heath facility, Nasiha Clinic, was also shut down over the nutritionist’s unprofessional conduct.
The Executive Secretary, Private Health Institutions Management Agency (PHIMA) Dr. Usman Tijjani Aliyu, said the nutritionist while posing as a nurse admitted and treated wo male patients with medical conditions in the clinic.
‘’The nutritionist was masquerading as a nurse serving medication to the patients which by every standard is quackery according to the laws and guidelines of PHIMA. The clinic was also in a very poor sanitary condition as well,’’ Aliyu said in a statement on Wednesday.
‘’ The inspection and raid of the hospital was based on the complaints of the residents of the area and suspicion on how patients are treated at the facility.
‘’The inspection team of the agency also raided Wudil and Ajingi local government areas.’’
