Former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso has visited the residence of Senator Ibrahim Shekarau ahead of the latter’s planned defection to New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP).
This is coming at the peak of speculations of Shekarau’s planned dumping of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for Kwankwaso’s NNPP.
On Friday, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje also visited Shekarau’s residence in the nigh in a last minute attempt to stop the senator from leaving the ruling party.
On Sunday, Kwankwaso stormed the Mudunbawa residence of Shekarau together with NNPP bigwigs of NNPP purportedly to perfect the planned defection.
The senator who is the leader of the G-7 APC faction in the state is said to officially announce his defection tomorrow Monday.
Shekarau is said to be decamp to the NNPP with all his supporters across the state on Monday.
