The Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello has urged Judiciary and the Legislature to come up with stiffer penalties for bandits, kidnappers and their collaborators.
The governor said this on Friday at the swearing-in of Justice Aisha Bawa Bwari as the Chief Judge of the State, in Minna.
Several rural communities in Niger state have been plagued by activities of bandits in recent time which has claimed several lives.
He said bandits and kidnappers operate in collaboration with informants, hence the same penalties should be meted to everyone involved in the cartel.
