Max Air has been cleared to resume domestic flight operations after successfully completing an economic and safety audit.
Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Michael Achimugu, made this known in a statement.
The airline suspended its domestic operations on January 29, 2025, for a 90-day period, following a series of incidents involving its flights, a decision that was endorsed by the NCAA.
According to Achimugu, during the period of suspension, the NCAA conducted a comprehensive safety and economic audit of the airline.
He explained that the safety audit, which took place from February 26 to 28, 2025, involved a detailed re-inspection of Max Air’s organisation, procedures, personnel, and aircraft in accordance with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023.
“Based on the audit results, which confirm Max Air’s capability to maintain safe flight operations, the airline will resume domestic flights effective from midnight on March 17, 2025,” the statement read.
The NCAA also assured that it will continue to closely monitor Max Air’s operations through an enhanced surveillance program to ensure full compliance with aviation regulations.
