President and founder of Maryam Abacha American Universities in Niger Republic and Nigeria, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has been turbanned as Wazirin Hausawan Turai.
The event was held weekend at the palace of Sarkin Hausawan Turai, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Sirajo Jan Kado, in Paris, France.
Gwarzo was Sardaunan Hausawan Turai before his recent elevation to Waziri, according to a statement by his media aide, Ali Kakaki.
Speaking on behalf of the Sarkin Hausawa, the Santurakin Turai, Alhaji Aminu Fanda, said the emirate had decided to elevate Professor Gwarzo because of his commitment to the emirate, its members and the masses.
Gwarzo, a former President of the African Union for the Protection of Journalists, is also the founder of Franco-British University Kaduna and President of the Association of African Private Universities (AAPU).
In his remarks, Gwarzo thanked God, the emirate and well wishers for elevation, adding that the recognition will further boost his efforts in serving the people in areas of education and philantrophy.
