A lecturer at the state College of Health Technology Offa, Abdullahi Opashola, and twin, Taiye and Kehinde Adebayo, have been convicted by a Kwara High Court, for internet fraud.
Opashola bagged four-month imprisonment while Taiye and Kehinde got six months imprisonment.
The Ilorin zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had dragged the convicts to court on separate charges.
Opashola was charged with an attempt to defraud by portraying himself as a woman by the name Devin Snow over email in order to induce one Eugene Myvett to send $200 USD to him.
Taiye was charged with an attempt to defraud one Gary Brenton, who he met on TWOO dating site, of a sum of $490 by pretending to be a female. While Kehinde was charged with defrauding one Gary Brenton.
In her judgement, Justice Adenike Akinpelu found Opashola guilty and sentenced him to four -month imprisonment, with an option of N150,000..
The Judge sentenced Taiye and Kehinde to six months imprisonment on each of the counts against them, with an option of fine of N50,000 on each of the charges.
The jail term are to run concurrently.
