Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has said his predecessor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso sold government properties while in office.
The governor was reacting to Governor-elect Abba Kabir Yusuf’s transition committee chairman Baffa Bichi, who accused him of auctioning public properties to his family members and friends.
Speaking at the official commissioning of the office of the State Ministry of Youths and Sports, Ganduje said Kwankwaso was the first to start auctioning government properties across the state.
However, Mr Ganduje said his government broke no law in selling government properties.
He said, “I have heard someone (Baffa Bichi) saying we sold government properties. Let that person know, we are not the first to do that. If he wants to know, let him meet me and I will show him how his grandfather in politics, and his father in politics have done the same. Moreover, is what we did against the law?,” Ganduje said.
