Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo, has ordered the suspension of Dana Airline’s fleet operations citing safety concerns.
This is contained in a memo signed by Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Emmanuel Meribole, in a statement, said the minister directed the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to initiate the suspension.
He expressed concern recent incidents of both safety and financial viability of the airline’s operations and said the decision to suspend the airline was in the light of this.
Keyam said the airline will remain suspended until a comprehensive audit encompassing all aspects of safety protocols, maintenance procedures and financial health to ensure full compliance with aviation regulations is conducted.
