There is possibility of attacks by Islamic State in West African Province (ISWAP) fighters on Chibok and Damboa towns in Borno State.
Residents of the community raised the alarm on Tuesday through telephone calls to journalists.
They said they had observed ISWAP fighters have gathered at Gumsuri Litawa-an area between Chibok and Dambis-since the eve of Christmas, which may result to attacks on the communities.
It is the mode of operation of the insurgents in large number before they infiltrate communities and lauch attacks.
One of the residents said they had alerted the military bases- the 25 Brigade Nigerian Army in Damboa, and the 28 Taskforce Brigade in Chibok.
He said toops usually patrol the general area, but they had stopped.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE reports that in October ISWAP attacked Damboa with about 15 gun trucks, but suffered heavy casaulties from the military.
