Six civilians have been wounded when Nigerian soldiers repelled an attack by the Islamic State in West African Province (ISWAP) fighters in Damboa, Borno state.
A security source told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that the terrorists attacked Damboa in the early hours of Friday through Sabon Gari area of the town with 10 gun trucks.
He said the troops repelled the attack after a fierce battle that lasted for hours, adding that the troops have already taken control of the area.
The military is yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
