A 41-year-old man, Usman Hammawa, has been arrested for allegedly beating his wife, Rabiyatu Usman to death over N1,000.
The deceased, 36, was a civil servant and mother of five.
Hammawa, a resident of Jada Ward in Ganye local government area of the state, was said to have hit his wife’s head against the wall after she demanded that her husband refund the N1,000 he borrowed from her.
The deceased relatives who reported the incident to the police said Rabiyatu became unconscious after the incident and was rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead.
The spokesperson of the state police command, Suleiman Nguroje, said discreet investigations into the incident had begun.
