A middle-aged man has been arrested for allegedly using locally made eye charm, known as ‘kifil,’ to lured a married woman and had sex with her.
The man, Suleiman Yau, an indigene of Jigawa state who was paraded by Hisbah officials in Kano, admitted to committing the act.
“I used the eyelid powder on my eye because I have eye dandruff but the allegation leveled against me was that I used the powder to charm the married woman,” he said.
“It was the married woman who was trailing me. I made several attempts to dodge her but she kept on coming to me. On the day we committed the act, I had sleepless night,” he said
Speaking on the case, the state Hisbah commander Haruna Ibn Sina, said both the man and the married woman are working in the same organisation and it was another woman colleague who reported the matter that led to his arrest.
He called on married men to keep a close watch on the activities of their wives especially the working class.
