Gunmen have abducted the chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Kogi State, Alhaji Wakili Damina.
MACBAN’s secretary, Adamu Abubakar, disclosed this to journalists in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.
He said Damina was abducted on April 30 by some armed men dressed in army camouflage at about 12 noon from his house at Chikara village in Kogi local government of the state.
Abubakar said immediately he was informed about Damisa’s disappearance by his younger brother, he put a call to his mobile number but rang out.
“Since then, his lines are not reachable and all efforts to know his whereabouts proved abortive,” he said.
The state Commissioner of Police, Ede Ayuba, confirmed the incident. He said the police were yet to locate Damina’s whereabouts.
Ayuba said efforts to get detailed information about the incident from the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area where the incident happened was unsuccessful as the matter was not officially reported to him.
