Daughter of Senator Danjuma Goje, Dr Hussaina Danjuma Goje, has resigned as Gombe state Commissioner of Environment and Forest Resources.
This is coming barely 24 hours after her father was attacked by thugs loyal to the Governor Inuwa Yahaya.
During the attack, Goje’s vehicles were vandalized and he was blocked from entering Gombe.
The state government, however, accused the former governor of sponsoring thugs to breach security in the state.
On Saturday, Dr Hussaina announced her resignation in a short video and press statement obtained. She said her decision. was on personal grounds.
She appreciated Governor Yahaya for giving her the opportunity to serve the state.
“Today Saturday November 6, 2021, I wish to inform the general public and media organisations that I, Dr Hussaina Goje have tendered my formal resignation from my position as Honorable Commissioner of Environment and Forest Resources to His Excellency the Executive Governor or Gombe State Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya effective today.”
“I also wish to inform that my resignation was made based on my personal reasons. With this, I wish to show my appreciation and the opportunity given to me by Governor Yahaya to serve as a member of the Executive Council this administration,” she said.
