The female lawyer, Adachukwu Chikelu-Okafor, who allegedly brutalised an 11-year-old house help, has finally submitted to the Police in Anambra State.
Chikelu-Okafor, who allegedly inserted a hot knife into the private part of the house girl, ran into hiding after the incident.
The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs after declaring her wanted, also placed a N2 million bounty on her for information leading to her arrest.
Aloes, the State Ministry of Women Affairs declared State Police Command after submitting herself.
Similarly, a women group Umuada Awgu Global Association (UAGA), from Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State have placed a N1 million bounty on an Anambra woman, Mrs Adachukwu Okafor, who reportedly brutalised her 11-year-old househelp.
The group also issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Okafor to hand herself over to the police.
The Founder and President of UAGA, Chinemerem Anyi, announced the financial reward for any informant on the fleeing woman’s whereabouts at the group on Thursday in Enugu.
The Anambra State Government confirmed her detention in Awka.
It was gathered that she allegedly boasted while manhandling the child that she was a lawyer, adding that nothing would happen to her
Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Ify Obinabo, confirmed the lawyer’s detention, saying the Onitsha-based lawyer surrendered herself to the police few days after a bounty of N2 million was placed on her.
Obinabo said the suspect would be arraigned before the Children, Sexual and Gender Based Violence Magistrate court in Awka this week.
She said she visited the brutalised victim in the hospital, confirming that she had been successfully treated and discharged.
