The Federal Government has sanctioned 100 passports for failing to comply with the mandatory 7-day post-arrival COVID-19 test.
The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 in Nigeria said this on its twitter page on Tuesday.
The Federal government had earlier directed that passengers wishing to travel to Nigeria must conduct a COVID-19 PCR test at least 96 hours before entering the country, and register for the repeat of the test on the 7th day after arrival. It placed a six months travel ban on anyone that violates the order.
Many Nigerians have reacted to the new development.
Isiaka Abayomi Akinbode @akinbode_isiaka, Medical Social Worker, says he loves the stance taken by the federal government. He said it would serve as a deterrent to others.
Adegboye Adeola @Adegboye247, said while he supports the move by the government, the six months travel ban is too much a punishment for such an offence.
