An ‘illegal’ filling station under construction inside the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, has been demolished by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
FCTA Director, Department of Development Control, Muktar Galadima, who supervised the demolition told journalists that the developer was initially allocated the land for construction of the filling station, but following series of complaints from the office of the National Security Adviser on security implications of siting a filling station inside such a complex, the allocation was reviewed and revoked.
He said while compensation has been paid for the property on the filling station site and land, no compensation would be paid for the adjourning residential structure.
