Mr Nasiru Ila has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives).
This was disclosed in a statement by presidential spokesperson Malam Garba Shehu, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.
The new appointee is replacing Mr Umar El-Yakub. who has been elevated as Minister of State for Works and Housing by the president recently.
Mr Ila is an alumnus of Victory College, Alexandria and West London College, United Kingdom.
He was a successful businessman with interests in haulage, ginnery and tannery before his foray into politics.
In 2011 and 2015, he was elected as a member House of Representatives, representing Tarauni Federal Constituency in Kano.
The new presidential aide is a Chartered member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).
