President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, as the Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Cross River State.
Pro-Chancellor of the University, General Matthew Luther Agwai (rtd) disclosed this when he led members of the council on a congratulatory visit to the emir at his palace in Kano.
Agwai said the university would achieve greater heights of academic excellence based on the emir’s vast experience.
Emir Bayero thanked the president for finding him worthy to serve as the Chancellor of the University.
He promised to try his best in ensuring that the university achieves academic excellence.
The emir solicited the university’s Council and the host community’s support to achieve the desired goals.
