The management of Al-Istikama University, Kano State, on Wednesday appointed the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, as the pioneer Chancellor of the University.
The proprietor and the founder of the university, Sulaiman Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, a former SSA to President Buhari on House of Representatives Matters, announced this in a statement on Wednesday.
He said the appointment is based on the emir’s immense contributions to the education sector.
“His influence and the role he played in the establishment of the university are enormous,” Sumaila said.
The emir appreciated the management of the university, adding that he would do his utmost best for the progress and development of the university.
Al-Istikama University is a new private university located at the outskirt of Sumaila town, in Sumaila local government area of the state.
