Nigeria has made history as the first African country where Twitter owner, Elon Musk’s Starlink internet has gone live.
In a post on its Twitter page on Tuesday, Starlink said its service was now active in the country.
A few weeks back, the company began preorder sales of it’s starter kit hardware to Nigerians at $600 and also announced monthly subscription of $43 for its services.
“Starlink is now available in Nigeria – the first African country to receive service,” the tweet reads.
Another message on the company’s website showed that customers could enjoy a 30-day free trial and also access its services at lower rates.
“Starlink is currently available in your area. Customers in your region typically see download speeds of 50-200 Mbps. No contracts, 30-day trial,” the company said.
“Shipping times are currently estimated to be 1 to 2 weeks from order… N19,260/month for service and N274,098 for hardware,” the message read.
