An elder statesman, veteran journalist and former federal lawmaker, Alhaji Sidi Ali, is dead.
He was 86.
He died Thursday evening in Kano, according to family sources.
He was a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and a member of the party’s Elders Committee in Kano State.
He was born in Kano but raised in Ghana.
He worked at the Nigerian International Press Centre, Ministry of Information and National Broadcasting Commission, among others.
He was elected a federal lawmaker during the Second Republic.
He is survived by many children that include the spokesperson of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Hakama Sidi Ali.
