Kaduna state Government has renamed the State Secretariat after a seasoned bureaucrat Malam Maccido Dalhat.
Malam Dalhat was the first Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Head of Service (HOS) of Kaduna State.
The state government disclosed this in a letter, with reference GH/KD/S/77/S.3, personally signed by Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, dated July 19, 2022 and addressed to the family of the deceased civil servant.
The renaming is in recognition of Mr Dalhat’s “dedication and profound contribution to the development of the state,” the governor said.
The governor said a date will be fixed for the formal unveiling of the secretariat.
Born in March 1935 in Zaria, Malam Dalhat served as Kaduna SSG and HOS between 1974 and 1979.
He later served as Minister of State for States and Local Government Affairs from 1993 to 1994.
He died on March 8, 2012 at the age of 79.
He left behind a wife, 11 children and grand children.
