The Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Bisi Egbeyemi, says the state will no longer sponsor pilgrimages to Mecca and Jerusalem.
He said this when he hosted members of the state muslim pilgrims welfare board in his office on Tuesday, led by the board’s chairman
Babatunde Onipede.
A statement by Odunayo Ogunmola, the spokesperson to the deputy governor, said the governor said no allocation is made for sponsoring pilgrims in the budget.
He asked those interested in visiting Mecca and Jerusalem for pilgrimage to seek private sponsorship.
