No protest is permitted on Wednesday, June 12 designated as Democracy Day in the country.
The Department of State Services (DSS), in a statement, warned agitators not to embark on any protest, specifically saying it was aware of plans by some individuals and groups to protest in some parts of the country to cause disorder and breach the security in the country.
Its spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, said the DSS would not tolerate the protest, adding that the masterminds of the actions would be arrested immediately.
According to the statement, violent demonstrations are not the same as the peaceful disposition of the federal government to amicably address all contentions including the minimum wage.
He warned the citizens not “to be lawless or cause disorder and anarchy in the nation,” adding that displeased persons should address their grievances via appropriate channel.
The DSS reaffirmed its position to protect the country from inimical acts being orchestrated by disgruntled groups to cause a breakdown of law and order.
