The campaign convoy of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for Enugu North/South Federal Constituency, Hon. Oforchukwu Egbo on Wednesday was attacked by gunmen, killing a driver of one of the vehicles in the convoy.
The convoy came under attack at Eke-Otu in Amechi Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area of the state.
The remains of the driver was reportedly burnt with the vehicle.
In another attack, some gunmen killed the Labour Party senatorial candidate for Enugu East district, Mr Oyibo Chukwu, with five of his supporters in Amechi on Wednesday evening.
The State Police spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, was yet to react to the development as at the time of filing this report.
