Benue, Kaduna and Borno State have taken delivery of 305, 510 doses of Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines from the Federal Government.
The states took delivery of the vaccines after President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo received their jabs on Saturday at a ceremony held at the New Banquet Hall of the State House, Abuja.
Nigeria, last week Tuesday took delivery of 3.92 million doses of Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines under the international COVAX scheme.
Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai said on Wednesday his twitter page that the state’s Commissioner for Health, Amina Mohammed-Baloni, has confirmed receipt of 180,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
Benue state Commissioner for Information, Ngunan Addingi, confirmed the arrival of 50,000 COVID-19 vaccines on Tuesday.
She also said the state action committee on COVID-19 would meet to determine the modalities and when the vaccination would begin, adding that the vaccine would be administered voluntarily on the citizens of the state.
Also on Tuesday, the Deputy Governor of Borno State, Umaru Khadafur, disclosed on Tuesday the receipt of 75,510 doses of Covid vaccines by the state government.
Lagos, Edo, Cross River, Osun, Kwara and Ebonyi States have all confirmed the receipt of COVID-19 vaccines from the Federal Government on Tuesday. They, however, refused to disclose the doses.
