Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would make sure all its positions are based on consensus.
Speaking with journalists at the party’s headquarters in Abuja, on Friday, Sule said among the three options in APC’s constitution, “the number one choice always in our party is consensus because it creates a rancour-free convention.”
He said, “We have mentioned over and over, as far as our party is concerned, we have all the three options in our constitution and the number one choice always in our party is consensus because it creates a rancour-free convention.”
“The reason being that all stakeholders from the various zones will sit, agree and all aspirants will agree and sign off before you go into the convention. So our first choice is always consensus and we are still on that first choice.
“However, democracy demands, even the constitution demands that if that doesn’t work, we would go ahead and look at other options. But right now that remains our option — our number one.
“One thing I can tell you clearly, the leadership of this party, the stakeholders of this party, the governors are united.”
