President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday approved N13.3billion for the take-off of the Community Policing initiative across the country.
Community Policing initiative is part of the measures adopted by Buhari’s administration to consolidate efforts aimed at enhancing security across the country.
Buhari disclosed this in Abuja at the opening of a two-day Mid-Term Ministerial Performance Review Retreat organized to assess progress made towards the achievement by Buhari’s administration in the last two years.
He said said the approval was part of measures to consolidate efforts aimed at enhancing security nationwide.
Buhari also disclosed his approval for the establishment of a modest military industrial complex for the local production of weapons to meet some of the requirements of the country’s armed forces.
He said the establishment of the industrial complex would address Nigeria’s over-dependence on other countries for military equipment and logistics.
