One of the enumerators conducting trial census in Sokoto state has narrowly escaped bandits attack at Tofa village in Rabah local government area of Sokoto state.
The enumerator (name withheld) was said to have been whisked away by one of the locals during the attack on the community.
The state Director of National Population Commission, Malami Marafa Gagi, who confirmed the development on Saturday, said it was one of the locals that hid him in his house until after the attack.
“We really thank God for his life. He would have been one of the people abducted by the attackers.
“But the enumerator has continued doing his work after the attack,” he said
He commended the locals for their support and cooperation to their enumerators.
