President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday signed the Electoral Act Amendment Bill into law.
He assented to the bill on Friday at a brief ceremony held at the Council Chamber of the Aso Villa in Abuja.
Senate President, Ahmed Lawan and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila and Kayode Fayemi, chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) were among the dignitaries present at the ceremony.
Also present were Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, among others.
The bill was transmitted to the president on January 31 after both chambers of the National Assembly had reworked it.
