President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Kano to attend the wedding of his only son Yusuf.
The president, who flew from Yola, landed at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport this afternoon.
He was earlier in Yola, Adamawa state capital to condole with the families of elder statesmen Malam Ahmed Joda and Dr Mahmud Tukur, his two associates who died recently.
Yusuf Buhari is getting married to Zahra, daughter of the Emir of Bichi Nasiru Ado Bayero.
The wedding was scheduled for Friday at the Central Mosque Bichi, headquarters of the Bichi emirate.
Earlier, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had landed in Kano for the wedding.
Other dignitaries who are in Kano for the wedding include a presidential delegation headed by the Chief of Staff Professor Ibrahim Gambari. Members of Gambari’s delegation are Ministers of Defence, Maj Gen Bashir Salihi Magashi, Alhaji Sabo Nanono (Agriculture), Senator Hadi Sirika (Aviation), Engr. Suleiman Hussein Adamu (Water Resources), and presidential spokesperson Garba Shehu.
There are also Governors Babagana Zulum (Borno), Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), Muhammad Inuwa (Gombe), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa), as well as former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani Kayode, among others.
