President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the arrest and trial of all
illegal arms bearers in the country irrespective of their ethnicity.
Presidential spokesperson Femi Adesina said this during a television interview on Tuesday.
Security experts have linked the present security challenges in the country to proliferation of firearms.
Adesina said the president has zero tolerance for criminals and would not harbour anyone found wanting by security agencies.
He said the president had favoured the idea of ranching and RUGA settlement as the best option to end herders/farmer conflict in the country.
