President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a three-man delegation of Minister of State for Works and Housing, Engr Abubakar D. Aliyu; his water resources counterpart, Engr Suleiman Adamu; and senior special assistant on media and publicity, Malam Garba Shehu to Hadejia to condole with the Emir of Hadejia Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje Haruna, over his mother’s death.
Buhari described the death of Khadija Abubakar Maje, the emir’s mother has left a vacuum in the emirate and Jigawa State that cannot be filled.
Shehu said in a statement on Tuesday that the president said this in a letter he personally signed and delivered to the Emir of Hadejia by a presidential water resources, the president further said:
He said the president’s letter read: “I received with shock, news of the passing of your mother, Hajiya Khadija Abubakar Maje, after a brief illness. On behalf of myself, the government and people of Nigeria, I express our heartfelt condolences.
“I wish to console Your Highness to take solace in the richly fulfilled life which she lived, particularly as she was a witness to your success as a public servant as well as many achievements as Emir of Hadejia.”
Shehu said Buhari prayed for the repose of her soul.
