Bandits on Wednesday attacked the convoy of the Emir of Birnin Gwari, Alhaji Zubairu Jibril Mai Gwari II, along the Birnin Gwari- Kaduna highway.
Birni Gwari is one of the hotspots of bandits activities in Kaduna State.
On Monday bandits abducted several pupils and teachers of UBE primary school Rama in Birnin Gwari local government area.
Several villagers have also deserted their communities and took refuge in the Birnin Gwari town and Kaduna city due to frequent in bandits attacks in the area.
A source told 21st that the Emir was not in the convoy when the incident happened.
He said the bandits attacked the convoy from the front while approaching a barricade of tree branches used by the attackers to block the road.
The source said they drove through the barricade even as the bandits fired shots at the convoy. He said they did not experience any casualty in the incident.
